Children and music are my most favourite things, and I am excited to be the Director of Music Together with H&M! I’ve always loved to sing but also enjoy playing various instruments. As a child, I played the violin for many years and as a teen I began learning to play the piano, but my passion has always been singing! I’ve always sung in choirs and decided to major in voice during my post-secondary years. I love choir directing and enjoy composing choral music.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Music and a Bachelor of Education, and I had the privilege of being trained to teach Music Together by the co-author, Lili Levinowitz (Ph.D), at McGill University in Montreal in September, 2016.

My five grown children all enjoy music making in various ways. When I was growing up, I not only enjoyed music but was also very fond of sports; however, my mother would advise me to choose music over sports when these interests competed for my time because as she would say: “you can enjoy music into your 90s but sports only for a limited time” and she was right. I now tell my children the same thing. Furthermore, I’ve always found a special connection between people and between generations in the world of music that I never found in sports. It is my hope that children and parents/grandparents/other family members or caregivers will not only enjoy making music together but will make connections through music that will last a lifetime.
